This large oil painting was commissioned by a friend who has traveled to Africa a number of times. He asked me to create a painting based on a photo he took.

I made some adjustments and additions to the source photo, adding details through research on sable and waterbuck antelope, along with a few warthogs and an African dove.

This was completed over a very intense ten weeks. The scale of the painting really gives it impact.
