Traveling around France in 2009 my wife and I discovered Semur-en-Auxois and the Church of Notre-Dame. It was lit by the low afternoon sun and I took a few pictures.

I tried to emphasize that sunlit glow in my painting. Working on this was like building the church, brick by brick!
